Improves blood pressure control in essential hypertension through the combination of amlodipine and valsartan
This medicine is used for patients with essential hypertension whose blood pressure is not sufficiently controlled by monotherapy with amlodipine or valsartan. The combination of the two components helps to lower blood pressure more effectively, assisting in hypertension management. This supports the reduction of cardiovascular complications and improves health.
The recommended dosage of this medication is 1 tablet once daily, taken with water without regard to meals. It is recommended to take it at the same time every day (e.g., in the morning).
The safety and efficacy of this medication in pediatric patients under 18 years have not been established, thus its use in this population is not recommended.
This medication can cause serious harm to the fetus and newborns if taken during the second and third trimesters of pregnancy, so it should be discontinued immediately upon confirmation of pregnancy. It should not be used in patients with allergies to the active ingredients or similar medications, in pregnant or breastfeeding women, or in patients with severe renal or liver dysfunction. Patients with sodium or fluid depletion may experience hypotension, so their condition should be reviewed before use and blood pressure should be carefully monitored during treatment. Patients with elevated potassium levels should be cautious when taking this medication along with other drugs that may increase potassium and should have their potassium levels checked frequently. For patients with vascular issues related to the kidneys or those who have undergone kidney transplants, this medication should be used cautiously or avoided. This medication may cause angioedema, which can manifest as swelling of the face, lips, tongue, or difficulty breathing; if these symptoms occur, discontinue use immediately and consult a healthcare professional. Patients with heart failure or those who have had a myocardial infarction should closely monitor kidney function while taking this medication and receive appropriate measures if symptoms of hypotension occur. This medication may interact with other antihypertensive drugs or certain medications, so anyone taking other medications should inform their healthcare provider. Caution is required when driving or operating machinery, as dizziness or fatigue may occur. Women who are pregnant or planning to become pregnant should not use this medication, and breastfeeding women should also avoid it. Safety and efficacy have not been established in children under 18 years of age, so its use in this population is not recommended. In case of overdose, hypotension, dizziness, and in severe cases, shock may occur, so it is crucial to adhere to the prescribed dosage and consult a healthcare professional in case of unusual symptoms. Side effects such as headache, dizziness, drowsiness, paresthesia, vertigo, tinnitus, tachycardia, palpitations, syncope, orthostatic hypotension, hypotension, cough, throat and laryngeal pain, diarrhea, nausea, abdominal pain, constipation, dry mouth, rash, erythema, sweating, itching, joint swelling, back pain, arthritis, muscle cramps, weakness, frequent urination, polyuria, erectile dysfunction, edema, angioedema, facial swelling, peripheral edema, fatigue, flushing, weakness, facial flushing, and rhinitis may occur when taking this medication; notify a healthcare professional if symptoms are severe or persist.
Hives, severe swelling (edema), angioedema, chest tightness, difficulty breathing, cold sweat, pallor, severe rash with fever, blisters, skin peeling, pain in oral/eye mucosa, shortness of breath or difficulty breathing, asthma attacks, respiratory issues with cough and fever, yellowing of the skin or eyes (jaundice), severe lethargy, sudden and severe headache, thunderclap headache, seizures, confusion, visual disturbances
