This medication is used in patients with essential hypertension who have difficulty controlling blood pressure with monotherapy of amlodipine or valsartan alone. It helps to effectively control blood pressure and reduce the risk of cardiovascular complications.

How to take

Adult dose

The recommended dose of this medication is 1 tablet once daily, taken with water regardless of meals. It is recommended to take it at the same time every day (e.g., in the morning).

Child dose

Safety and efficacy in patients under 18 years have not been established; therefore, the administration of this medication is not recommended.

Precautions

This medication can cause serious harm to the fetus and newborn if taken during the second and third trimesters of pregnancy, so it must be discontinued immediately upon confirmation of pregnancy. Patients with hypersensitivity to this medication, pregnant or breastfeeding women, patients with severe kidney or liver disease, and those with specific heart conditions should not take this medication. Patients with sodium or fluid depletion may experience hypotension; therefore, their condition should be carefully checked before administration, and blood pressure should be closely monitored during treatment. Patients with high potassium levels should be cautious when taking this medication together with potassium supplements or medications that can increase potassium, and regular monitoring of blood potassium levels is essential. This medication should be used cautiously in patients with renal vascular issues, kidney transplant recipients, those with a history of angioedema, and those after heart failure or myocardial infarction, and it should be immediately discontinued upon the appearance of adverse effects. Side effects such as dizziness, headache, edema, hypotension, and dyspepsia may occur when taking this medication. If symptoms are severe, consult a doctor. Be cautious of dizziness or fatigue while driving or operating machinery. This medication may interact with other antihypertensive drugs, potassium supplements, diuretics, NSAIDs (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs), certain antibiotics, heart medications, etc.; therefore, inform your doctor of any other medications being taken. Women who are pregnant or planning to become pregnant should not take this medication, and breastfeeding women are also advised to avoid it.
