Additionally, patients with heart problems, very poor liver or kidney function, those who have recently experienced a myocardial infarction, patients on dialysis, and children or adolescents under the age of 18 should also not use this medication. This medicine contains lactose, so individuals with lactose intolerance or related genetic diseases should avoid using it. Caution is necessary when using this medicine for some patients. For instance, patients with cardiac rhythm control issues, those with weak heart function, mild to moderate liver or kidney disease, patients with a history of angina, individuals who consume alcohol frequently, and the elderly should use this medicine carefully. During treatment, side effects such as facial flushing, edema, palpitations, dizziness, headache, and indigestion may occur. If any signs of liver dysfunction appear, consult a doctor immediately. Suddenly discontinuing this medicine may worsen symptoms, so the dosage should be gradually reduced while closely monitoring the condition. Moreover, because this medicine is metabolized in the liver, interactions with certain medications can alter its effectiveness. It is particularly crucial to exercise caution when combined with medications affecting liver enzymes, such as certain antifungals, antibiotics, anticonvulsants, and immunosuppressants. Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding are advised against taking this medicine due to reports in animal studies suggesting potential harm to the fetus. The safety and efficacy of this medicine have not been established in children and adolescents, hence it is not prescribed for them. The elderly require special attention while taking this medicine, and dosage adjustments may be necessary. In cases of overdose, severe hypotension and arrhythmias may occur, necessitating immediate medical attention and at least 24 hours of cardiovascular monitoring.
