Improved blood pressure control in essential hypertension through combination of amlodipine and valsartan
This medication is used to stably manage the blood pressure of patients with essential hypertension whose blood pressure is not sufficiently controlled by monotherapy with amlodipine or valsartan.
The recommended dosage of this medication is one tablet once a day, taken with water regardless of meals. It is recommended to take it at the same time daily (e.g., in the morning). 5/80 mg: Administered to patients whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled with monotherapy of amlodipine 5 mg or valsartan 80 mg. 5/160 mg: Administered to patients whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled with monotherapy of amlodipine 5 mg or valsartan 160 mg.
The safety and efficacy for pediatric patients under 18 years of age have not been established, hence the use of this medication is not recommended.
This medication can cause serious harm to the fetus and newborn if taken during the second or third trimester of pregnancy, so it should be discontinued immediately if pregnancy is confirmed. Do not use in patients with allergies to any of the main ingredients or similar substances, women who are pregnant or breastfeeding, or patients with severe kidney or liver disease. Patients with sodium or fluid depletion may experience hypotension, so their condition should be controlled prior to taking this medication, and they should be carefully monitored during use. Patients with high potassium levels or those who take medications that may increase potassium levels should have their potassium levels checked frequently. Caution is required for patients with impaired kidney function or those who have received a kidney transplant, and the medication should be discontinued immediately if symptoms of angioedema occur. Patients with heart failure or those recovering from myocardial infarction should have their kidney function changes closely monitored, and attention should be paid to the possibility of side effects such as pulmonary edema. This medication may cause dizziness or fatigue when driving or operating machinery, so caution is advised. When used with other medications, there may be potential interactions, so it is essential to consult with a doctor or pharmacist, especially with potassium supplements, diuretics, and NSAIDs. In the case of an overdose, severe hypotension, reflex tachycardia, or shock may occur, so contact a medical institution immediately for appropriate treatment. Safety and efficacy have not been established for pediatric patients under 18 years of age, and therefore use in this population is not recommended.
Hives, severe swelling (edema), angioedema, chest tightness, difficulty breathing, cold sweats, pallor, severe rash with fever, blisters, peeling skin, pain in oral/ocular mucosa, dyspnea or difficulty breathing, asthma attacks, respiratory abnormalities accompanied by cough and fever, jaundice (yellowing of the skin or eyes), severe systemic fatigue, sudden and severe headache, lightning-like headache, seizures, confusion, vision changes

This medication should be stored in a tightly closed container to protect from air and moisture. It is recommended to maintain a storage temperature between 1 degree and 30 degrees Celsius at room temperature.
