This medicine is used to effectively manage the blood pressure of patients with essential hypertension whose blood pressure is not sufficiently controlled by single therapy with amlodipine or valsartan.

How to take

Adult dose

The recommended dosage of this medicine is one tablet once a day, to be taken with water regardless of meals. It is recommended to take it at the same time each day (e.g., in the morning). Dosage adjustment is recommended based on patients whose blood pressure is not controlled with monotherapy of the individual components (amlodipine or valsartan). In patients with renal impairment, for mild to moderate renal impairment (creatinine clearance 10mL/min or more).

Child dose

The safety and efficacy of this medicine have not been established in pediatric patients under 18 years of age, and its use is not recommended.

Precautions

This medicine may cause serious harm or even death to the fetus or newborn if administered to pregnant women in the second or third trimester, so it must be discontinued immediately upon confirmation of pregnancy. This medicine is contraindicated in certain patients, including those with allergies to the active ingredients or similar drugs, pregnant or nursing women, those with severe kidney or liver dysfunction, and patients with certain heart diseases. Caution is required in patients with sodium or fluid depletion in the body, hyperkalemia, renal artery stenosis, recent kidney transplant, history of vascular edema, patients with heart failure or who have had a myocardial infarction. Caution is needed when driving or operating machinery as dizziness or fatigue may occur. This medicine may interact with other antihypertensive medications, potassium supplements, diuretics, and certain anti-inflammatory drugs, so it is essential to inform healthcare professionals about other medications being taken. Women who are pregnant or planning to become pregnant, or nursing mothers should avoid using this medicine for safety reasons. This medicine is not recommended for children under 18 years of age as its safety and efficacy have not been sufficiently established. In the elderly, it can be administered at the same doses as those for the general adult population, but the patient's physical condition should be monitored closely. In case of overdose, symptoms such as dizziness and severe hypotension may occur, so in the event of unintentional overdose, visit a medical institution immediately for appropriate treatment.
