This medication may place a burden on the liver, so those who regularly consume alcohol should consult a doctor or pharmacist before taking it. If any allergic symptoms such as skin rash or hives occur while taking this medication, discontinuation is imperative and consultation with a professional should occur immediately. This medication may increase the risk of seizures, so those with a history of seizures or at high risk for seizures should take it with caution. Severe asthma patients or those with significant respiratory problems are at risk of life-threatening respiratory depression when taking this medication, and it should only be taken in a medical setting. Taking together with alcohol or other central nervous system depressants may lead to serious side effects such as drowsiness, coma, and respiratory depression, so concurrent usage should be avoided. Patients with head injuries or brain diseases need to be cautious as this medication may increase intracranial pressure. This medication may cause dependence similar to opioids, so long-term use should be carefully monitored for signs of dependence. Patients with severely impaired liver or kidney function should consult a doctor before taking this medication, and care should be taken not to use it along with other acetaminophen products due to the risk of hepatic toxicity. Children under 12 years old and adolescents under 18 who have undergone tonsillectomy and adenoidectomy should not receive this medication; adolescents aged 12 to 18 should also avoid it if there are risk factors. Pregnant or breastfeeding women should consult a doctor before taking this medication, especially during breastfeeding, as serious side effects such as sedation or respiratory depression may occur in the infant. Drowsiness or dizziness may occur while driving or operating machinery, so caution is advised. Overdose may cause serious respiratory depression, liver damage, and seizures, so it is critical to adhere to the prescribed dosage and seek medical attention immediately if an overdose is suspected.
