Improvement of blood pressure control in essential hypertension
This medication is used in patients with essential hypertension whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled with Pimasartan monotherapy. It helps effectively manage blood pressure and reduce the risk of complications.
The recommended dose is 1 tablet once daily, taken with water regardless of meals. It is recommended to take it at the same time each day (e.g., in the morning). The dosage of 60/12.5 mg is administered to patients whose blood pressure is not properly controlled with Pimasartan 60 mg monotherapy. If blood pressure is not adequately controlled, the dose may be increased to 120/12.5 mg.
This medication can cause severe harm to the fetus and newborn if taken during pregnancy, especially during the second and third trimesters; therefore, it should be discontinued immediately upon confirmation of pregnancy. Patients with allergies to the ingredients of this medication, those with specific kidney and liver disorders, as well as pregnant or breastfeeding women should not take this medication. Patients with reduced blood volume, impaired kidney function, heart disease, the elderly, etc., should exercise caution when taking this medication and should closely monitor their condition under the guidance of a healthcare professional. This medication may cause various side effects, including dizziness, headache, abnormal blood test results, skin itching, erectile dysfunction, etc. If any abnormal symptoms occur, consult a healthcare professional immediately. During treatment, there is a risk of blood pressure becoming too low, so if symptoms of hypotension occur, the patient should be laid down and receive fluid treatment if necessary, and potassium levels should also be monitored regularly. This medication may interact with other antihypertensive medications, diuretics, potassium-sparing diuretics, lithium, and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, so if other medications are being taken, healthcare professionals must be informed and caution should be exercised. The use of this medication during pregnancy may negatively affect fetal growth and development, so it should not be taken if pregnancy is planned or during pregnancy, and breastfeeding is also not recommended during treatment. The safety and efficacy in pediatric patients have not been established, so it is advisable not to give this medication to children under 18. The elderly may have decreased liver, kidney, and heart function, so treatment should start at a low dose and their condition should be monitored carefully. In case of overdose, symptoms such as hypotension, electrolyte imbalance, dehydration may occur, so prompt medical attention is required, and during treatment, the medication should be stored safely out of the reach of children. It is beneficial to take this medication in the morning as it may help reduce nighttime urination.
