Precautions

This medication contains lactose, so it should not be used by individuals with genetic issues such as galactose intolerance, lactase deficiency, or glucose-galactose malabsorption. During the course of this medication, side effects such as diarrhea, dry mouth, and fatigue may occur. Rarely, liver function problems or severe hepatitis may develop, so if symptoms of liver dysfunction appear, discontinue use immediately and seek medical attention. Allergic reactions such as skin rashes or hives may occur, and various symptoms such as abdominal distension, nausea, vomiting, dizziness, and headache may also occur, so caution is advised. If symptoms do not improve after a certain period of use, long-term use should be avoided. This medication may be less effective when taken with anticholinergic drugs, so when using both medications, care should be taken to space out the doses. Pregnant women or those who may become pregnant should use this medication only if necessary and with caution, and breastfeeding mothers are advised to avoid use or to discontinue breastfeeding if possible. It is preferable not to use this medication in children as its safety has not been established. Elderly patients may have impaired kidney and liver function, so careful monitoring of their condition is necessary, and when side effects occur, appropriate measures such as reducing the dosage should be taken. This medication must be kept out of reach of children, and transferring it to another container may pose risks of accidents or quality degradation, so caution is necessary. In animal studies, instances of tumors in the liver and thyroid were reported with high doses over long-term use, so consulting a specialist is essential for prolonged use.
