This medication is used to assist in blood pressure control for patients with essential hypertension who do not achieve adequate blood pressure control with monotherapy.

How to take

Adult dose

Take one tablet of Valsartan 80 mg/Hydrochlorothiazide 12.5 mg once daily with a small amount of water, regardless of meals. If prescribed Valsartan 160 mg/Hydrochlorothiazide 12.5 mg for blood pressure lowering, take the prescribed dosage. For patients with renal impairment, dosing adjustment is not needed for those with mild to moderate renal impairment (creatinine clearance over 30 mL/min).

Precautions

This medication can cause serious harm to the fetus if taken during pregnancy, especially in the second and third trimesters, so it must be discontinued immediately when pregnancy is confirmed.
