Rarely, symptoms such as punctate keratopathy, keratitis, eye pain, dry eyes, periocular swelling, itching, discharge, redness, eyelid keratinization, discomfort in the eyes, glare, blurred vision, and eyelid redness may appear. Nasal dryness or rhinitis symptoms may occur, as well as symptoms of dry mouth, contact dermatitis, and fatigue. Additionally, symptoms similar to a cold or pharyngitis may appear in about 10% of patients, along with weakness, lower back pain, flu-like symptoms, frequent cough, infections, nausea, and sinusitis in some patients. In relation to contact lens wear, this medication should not be used for treating irritation caused by contact lenses, and if wearing soft contact lenses, they can be reinserted only after at least 15 minutes have passed after instilling this medication. Benzalkonium chloride contained in this medication may cause eye irritation and discoloration of contact lenses, so caution is advised. If pregnant, the effects of this medication on the fetus are not fully understood, so its use should be carefully considered by a doctor weighing the risks to the fetus against the benefits of this medication. If breastfeeding, this medication's ingredients may pass into breast milk, so nursing mothers should consult with their doctor to decide on its use. It can be safely used in children aged 3 and older, and elderly patients may expect similar safety and efficacy as general adults. In case of overdose, immediate observation and management by a healthcare professional is necessary. This medication is for direct ocular use only; it should not be used for intravenous injection or oral administration. Be careful not to allow the tip of the container to come into contact with the eye or hands, and after use, be sure to close the cap tightly to prevent contamination.
