Dosage and Administration

Adult dosage

Hypertension: The initial and maintenance dose is 50mg once daily, regardless of meals. If needed, the dose may be increased to 100mg once daily. Elderly patients: In elderly patients under 75 years of age, initial dosing adjustment is not necessary. For those over 75 years of age, an initial dose of 25mg once daily is recommended. Patients with renal impairment: Adjustments in initial dosing are not necessary for patients with mild renal impairment.

Precautions

This medication can cause serious harm to the fetus if taken during pregnancy, especially in the second and third trimesters, so it should not be taken by pregnant women or women who may become pregnant. If pregnancy is confirmed, the medication should be discontinued immediately, and regular examinations to check the health of the fetus are necessary. This medication should not be administered to patients with severely impaired liver function, certain hereditary diseases, or specific kidney diseases. Caution is required in elderly patients, patients with hyperkalemia, and patients with mild to moderate liver dysfunction, as blood pressure may drop too low. As this medication lowers blood pressure, dizziness or fainting may occur while taking it, so caution is necessary when driving or operating machinery. It is safe not to take this medication with potassium supplements or medications containing potassium, as it can elevate potassium levels. Regular checks of blood pressure, kidney function, electrolyte levels, etc., should be done during use to confirm any abnormalities. Rarely, side effects such as liver dysfunction, blood abnormalities, muscle pain, and skin rashes may occur, so if any unusual symptoms appear, contact a doctor immediately. This medication is not recommended for breastfeeding women, and if it needs to be taken, it is advisable to stop breastfeeding.
