Precautions
This medication should not be used by patients with hypercalcemia, sarcoidosis (a systemic inflammatory disease of unknown cause), and those with kidney diseases. Also, it should not be administered to individuals allergic to this medication or its components, infants under 12 months, patients with kidney stones, and those with severe renal insufficiency. This medication contains lactose, so individuals with lactose intolerance, lactose enzyme deficiencies, or genetic issues such as glucose-galactose malabsorption should not take it. While taking this medication, it should not be used concurrently with phosphate, calcium salts, oral tetracycline antibiotics, antacids, or specific medications such as levodopa. This medication contains colorants Yellow No. 4 and Yellow No. 5, so individuals allergic or sensitive to these colorants should use caution when taking it. Before taking this medication, individuals who are under treatment by a doctor, or have histories of oxalate nephropathy, heart and circulatory system dysfunction, kidney problems, hypoproteinemia, gout, and a history of kidney stones must consult a doctor or pharmacist. Women who are pregnant, possibly pregnant, or nursing, as well as premature infants and young children should also consult a professional before taking this medication, as the vitamin D component can cause hypercalcemia in neonates through breast milk. If any abnormal symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, skin rash, or heart rhythm abnormalities occur while taking this medication, discontinue use immediately and consult a professional. Additionally, long-term high-dose use may lead to tolerance and cause neurological or hematological abnormalities when used alongside specific vitamins, so caution is needed. Be sure to follow the prescribed dosage and administration guidelines, and avoid beverages containing tannins, such as green tea or black tea, before and after taking this medication. This medication may affect urine test results, so inform your healthcare provider prior to testing. Finally, this medication should be stored out of reach of children, away from direct sunlight, in a cool, dry place in a tightly closed container. Avoid transferring it to another container, as this may change its quality.
