Treatment and prevention of ulcers and Helicobacter pylori infection, treatment of reflux disease, and suppression of excessive gastric acid secretion
This medicine is used for short-term treatment of active duodenal ulcers and active benign gastric ulcers. It can effectively eradicate Helicobacter pylori to prevent recurrence of duodenal ulcers. It is also utilized for maintenance therapy of duodenal ulcers even after treatment to aid stable recovery. It is effective not only in treating gastric ulcers caused by non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs but also in reducing the risk of occurrence. It alleviates symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux disease and erosive esophagitis in the short term and is used for maintenance therapy after treatment. Finally, it treats pathological conditions of hypersecretion such as Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. Thus, it is widely used to treat various gastrointestinal diseases.
