Treatment of musculoskeletal pain-related muscle spasms and neurological spastic paralysis
This medicine helps alleviate pain and spasms in muscles associated with musculoskeletal disorders, such as symptoms like whiplash, periarthritis of the shoulder, and low back pain. It is also effective for spastic paralysis caused by neurological conditions, improving various neural sequelae due to cerebrovascular disorders or spastic spinal paralysis, as well as paralysis symptoms due to trauma. Patients with complex neurological disorders, such as cerebral palsy, spinocerebellar degeneration, and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, can also expect symptom relief. It is used to effectively manage muscle rigidity and pain present in various diseases, improving patients' quality of life.
For Eperisone Hydrochloride, take 50 mg orally three times daily after meals. Adjust dosage appropriately based on age and symptoms.
This medication should not be used in patients with allergic reactions or severe muscle weakness. Additionally, it contains lactose, so patients with a genetic disorder that impairs lactose digestion should avoid taking it. Patients with a history of drug allergies or liver function issues should exercise caution when using this medication. Rarely, during the use of this medication, symptoms of shock or abnormalities in liver or kidney function may appear, so symptoms must be monitored closely. Allergic reactions such as anemia, skin rashes, and itching may occur, and if any atypical symptoms emerge, it is essential to consult a physician immediately. Neurological symptoms such as insomnia, drowsiness, headaches, and sensory disturbances in the arms or legs may appear, requiring caution. Gastrointestinal symptoms such as indigestion, nausea, vomiting, constipation, and diarrhea have also been reported, so notify if symptoms arise. Systemic symptoms such as urinary disturbances, weakness, and dizziness may also occur, necessitating careful observation. Rare instances of serious skin reactions such as toxic epidermal necrolysis syndrome may occur, so if symptoms like fever, rash, blisters, or eye redness appear, discontinue the medication immediately and seek treatment. Drowsiness or decreased concentration may occur while taking this medication, so it is advisable to avoid driving or using hazardous machinery. Caution is needed when combining with other muscle relaxants, as visual disturbances may occur. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should use this medication with caution, and breastfeeding women should either avoid taking it or discontinue breastfeeding. Safety has not been sufficiently established in children, so care is required in usage. Elderly patients may have reduced physical function, thus requiring cautious adjustment of dosage.
