Relief of bladder pain and difficulty urinating due to interstitial cystitis
This medication is used for bladder pain and urinary difficulty caused by interstitial cystitis. It helps alleviate inflammation in the bladder, reduces pain, and aids in improving difficulties related to urination. This can help minimize the discomfort patients experience in daily life and improve their quality of life.
Take 100mg 3 times daily, 1 hour before meals or 2 hours after meals. After 3 months of treatment, undergo an examination. If there is no improvement in the condition and no severe adverse effects, take the drug again for the next 3 months.
This medication should not be used by patients who have an allergic reaction to its components. There may be psychological symptoms such as headaches, anxiety, depression, and dizziness while taking this medicine, so caution is advised. It can affect the digestive system, leading to symptoms like nausea, diarrhea, abdominal pain, and indigestion. Skin reactions such as rashes or itching, and hyperhidrosis may occur, so any unusual symptoms should be reported. Rarely, blood-related side effects may appear, such as anemia or tendency to bleed, so signs of bleeding should be monitored closely. Respiratory symptoms like rhinitis, pharyngitis, or difficulty breathing may occur sporadically, so respiratory status should be checked. Urinary symptoms such as vaginitis may appear, so consultation is necessary if discomfort arises. Allergic reactions or photosensitivity reactions may rarely occur. Sensory organs may be affected, leading to issues like vision disturbances, tinnitus, or conjunctivitis, so consultations should be sought if changes in vision or hearing occur. This medication slightly interferes with blood coagulation, so patients at high risk of bleeding should be examined before taking it. Patients undergoing surgery or taking other medications that affect blood coagulation should inform their healthcare provider about the risk of bleeding. Patients with conditions like thrombocytopenia, hemophilia, or peptic ulcer should consult a physician before taking this medication. Extra caution is needed for patients with a history of thrombocytopenia from heparin use. Patients with poor liver function or splenic disease should use this medication cautiously, as its effects and side effects may be exacerbated. Long-term use of this medication may lead to slight elevations in liver function test results, but this is usually temporary. Rarely, blood tests may show prolonged coagulation times or decreased platelet counts, thus regular testing is necessary. Using this medication alongside heparin may result in hair loss, typically in a circular pattern on certain areas of the scalp. Long-term use may rarely lead to retinal issues that cause blurred vision or delayed adaptation in dim light, hence regular ophthalmologic examinations are recommended. Animal studies during pregnancy did not reveal significant issues; however, safety in humans is not assured, so it should only be used when necessary. If breastfeeding, caution is advised as it's unknown whether this medication is secreted in breast milk. The safety and efficacy of this medication have not been thoroughly established for children under 16 years, so it is not recommended for this age group. In case of overdose, symptoms such as bleeding, decreased platelets, liver dysfunction, and gastrointestinal disturbances may occur, requiring immediate medical attention.
