This medication is used in patients with essential hypertension whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled by monotherapy with amlodipine or valsartan alone. In other words, this medication is used when monotherapy is insufficient to lower blood pressure more effectively. It helps manage hypertension, thereby reducing the risk of complications and protecting health.

Dosage and Administration

Adult dosage

The recommended dosage of this drug is one tablet once daily, to be taken with water regardless of meals. It is recommended to take it at the same time each day (e.g., in the morning).

Children's dosage

Safety and efficacy in pediatric patients under 18 years of age have not been established, and administration of this medication is not recommended.

Precautions

This drug can cause serious harm to the fetus and newborn when taken during pregnancy, especially in the second and third trimesters, so it should be discontinued immediately upon confirmation of pregnancy. This drug should not be used in individuals who are allergic to the active ingredients or similar classes of medication, in pregnant or breastfeeding women, in patients with severe kidney or liver disease, and in patients with specific heart conditions. Patients with low sodium or fluid levels in the body may experience hypotension, so conditions should be carefully checked before taking, and blood pressure and status should be closely monitored during use. Patients with high potassium levels or those taking medications that can raise potassium levels should have their potassium levels checked frequently. Patients with issues in renal blood vessels or those who have recently received kidney transplants should be cautious as renal function may worsen with the use of this medication. If symptoms such as facial, lip, or tongue swelling (angioedema) occur, the medication should be stopped immediately and should not be taken again. In patients with heart failure or myocardial infarction, renal function and blood pressure should be closely monitored during the use of this medication, and in patients with acute myocardial infarction, careful use is required. This medication may cause dizziness or fatigue when driving or operating machinery, so caution is needed. When taken with other medications, there may be interactions, so it is important to consult a doctor or pharmacist, especially when taking potassium supplements, diuretics, lithium, certain non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), grapefruit juice, etc. This drug is not recommended for children under 18 years of age as safety and efficacy have not been sufficiently established. In cases of overdose, symptoms such as low blood pressure and heart rhythm abnormalities may occur, and immediate medical attention should be sought if an overdose occurs. Women who are pregnant or planning to become pregnant should consult a doctor before taking this medication, and breastfeeding women should also avoid taking this medication.
