Precautions
This medication should not be used by patients who are hypersensitive to certain ingredients. Patients with a history of certain bowel diseases such as colitis or ulcerative colitis should also avoid using this medication. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant, as well as nursing mothers, should not use this medication. It is recommended not to use this medication in children under the age of 12, as safety and effectiveness have not been established. This medication contains an ingredient called propylene glycol, and patients with allergies or hypersensitivity to this ingredient should use it with caution. Rarely, skin reactions such as itching, unusual sensations, erythema, and dryness may occur at the site of application. These skin reactions are usually mild and often resolve over time. Gastrointestinal side effects like abdominal pain or digestive disorders may occur, and serious symptoms of colitis, such as severe diarrhea or blood in stool, can rarely develop. These symptoms may appear days to weeks, or sometimes months, after using the medication, so caution is necessary. If severe skin reactions such as pronounced redness, swelling, blisters, or skin peeling occur on the face or neck during use, discontinue use immediately and consult a physician. This medication should not be used for ophthalmic purposes and care should be taken to avoid contact with the mouth, eyes, mucous membranes, or areas of broken skin or eczema. Caution is needed when using this medication as it may bleach hair or stain clothing. It may take 4 to 6 weeks for the treatment effect to manifest, so consistent use is important. It is advisable to avoid prolonged exposure to sunlight and to protect the skin with hats or clothing. Even when used topically, the antibiotic component may be absorbed through the skin, so if symptoms such as diarrhea or blood in stool occur, use should be discontinued immediately and medical consultation should be sought. Using this medication concurrently with other topical antibiotics or soaps and cosmetics that have strong drying effects may increase skin irritation, so caution is necessary. It is safest to avoid using this medication during pregnancy, and it should also be avoided while nursing, as its components may be secreted in breast milk. Overuse can lead to excessive absorption through the skin and adverse systemic effects, so it is essential to adhere to the prescribed usage and dosage. This medication does not affect driving or operating machinery and will not interfere with daily activities. The medication should be stored out of reach of children and after opening, should be used within 2 months at room temperature below 25 degrees Celsius.
