This medication is used to treat gastric and duodenal ulcers. It is also effective for the relief of symptoms and long-term maintenance treatment of erosive or ulcerative gastroesophageal reflux disease. For patients with gastrointestinal ulcers infected with Helicobacter pylori, it can be used in combination with antibiotics. Additionally, it is used for Zollinger-Ellison syndrome to control excessive gastric acid secretion. It helps improve the symptoms and causes of various gastrointestinal diseases.

How to take

Adult dose

For gastric ulcers and duodenal ulcers: Take 10 mg orally once daily. Depending on symptoms, 20 mg may be taken orally once daily. Administer for 8 weeks for gastric ulcers and 6 weeks for duodenal ulcers. For erosive or ulcerative gastroesophageal reflux disease: Take 10 mg or 20 mg orally once daily for 4 to 8 weeks. If not resolved after 8 weeks, an additional 8 weeks of 10 mg or 20 mg may be taken once daily.

Precautions

This medication should not be used in patients with allergies to specific components or medications or those who have experienced hypersensitivity reactions. In particular, it should be avoided in patients allergic to penicillin or macrolide antibiotics, and those on certain heart-related medications.
