This medication is used for the treatment of myocardial ischemia caused by hypertension and stable angina due to fixed obstruction of the coronary artery, as well as variant angina due to vasospasm of the coronary vessels.

How to take

Adult dose

Administer 2.5 mg orally once daily as Es-Amlo-dipine, and may increase to a maximum of 5 mg daily according to patient response. Take with sufficient water.

Precautions

This medication should not be used in certain patients. For example, it is contraindicated in individuals who are allergic to this medication or similar ingredients, pregnant or breastfeeding women, patients with cardiogenic shock, severe aortic stenosis, unstable angina, recent myocardial infarction, severe liver dysfunction, and severe hypotension. Additionally, it should be used with caution in patients with significantly impaired kidney function, the elderly, patients with acute heart failure, hypertensive crises, and those with mild to moderate liver dysfunction. Taking this medication may cause side effects such as warmth and flushing, fatigue, swelling, palpitations, dizziness, headaches, and indigestion. These symptoms are particularly common when starting therapy or increasing the dose. Rarely, symptoms such as dry mouth, increased sweating, hypotension, fainting, myalgia, skin rashes, liver function abnormalities, and allergic reactions may occur; if any unusual symptoms appear, consult a physician immediately. Discontinuing this medication suddenly may worsen symptoms, so do not stop taking it without your physician's guidance, and exercise caution when taken with other medications for blood pressure control. It should be taken with sufficient water, and when experiencing dizziness or fatigue, driving or operating dangerous machinery should be avoided. This medication may interact with several other drugs, so if you are taking other medications, inform your doctor or pharmacist. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, it is advisable not to use this medication as its safety has not been established; consultation is needed if you are planning to become pregnant or are breastfeeding. In case of overdose, severe hypotension, cardiac irregularities, shock may occur, so seek appropriate medical treatment immediately. Keep this medication out of the reach of children and do not transfer it to other containers. Elderly patients may be more sensitive to the effects and side effects of the medication, so treatment should begin with a lower dose and monitor their condition carefully.
