How to take

Adult dose

Take one tablet on a regular basis once a month in the morning at least one hour before food, beverages (excluding water), or any other oral medications or dietary supplements (including calcium). Swallow with an adequate amount of water (180-240 mL) while standing or sitting upright, and do not lie down for 60 minutes after taking the medication. This should not be taken with mineral water but rather with ordinary water.

Child dose

Efficacy and safety in patients under 18 years of age have not been studied.

Precautions

This medication may not be suitable for certain patients. For instance, it should not be administered to patients allergic to this drug or its components, those with untreated hypocalcemia, those who cannot sit or stand upright for more than 60 minutes, those with esophageal issues that hinder the passage of food, and those with lactose intolerance or specific genetic problems. Patients with severe renal impairment should exercise particular caution when using this medication. During treatment, symptoms such as stomach discomfort, nausea, abdominal pain, diarrhea, headache, muscle pain, joint pain, and rash may occur, most of which are mild to moderate. Rarely, symptoms such as esophagitis, esophageal ulcers, dizziness, angioedema, facial swelling, and urticaria have been reported. If you experience symptoms such as esophageal irritation, difficulty swallowing, chest pain, or heartburn, stop taking the medication immediately and consult a physician. Furthermore, as this medication may irritate the stomach lining, patients with upper gastrointestinal disorders such as gastritis, duodenitis, or ulcers should be careful when taking it. It is important to consume adequate calcium and vitamin D while taking this medication, and intake of foods or medications containing calcium, aluminum, magnesium, or iron should be avoided for at least one hour after taking it as this may interfere with its absorption. Rarely, serious side effects such as osteonecrosis of the jaw or ear, ocular inflammation, severe allergic reactions, skin disorders, atypical fractures, etc. have been reported. If any of these symptoms occur, immediately consult a healthcare professional. Pregnant or nursing women are advised not to use this medication, and safety and efficacy in pediatric patients under 18 years of age have not been established. This medication should be taken precisely as directed, and care should be taken as overdose may lead to gastrointestinal disturbances or hypocalcemia. Lastly, this medication should be kept out of reach of children and any unused medications should be disposed of properly to prevent environmental pollution.
