Precautions

This medication is an alpha blocker, so patients who have had allergic reactions to this drug or similar drugs should not take it. It is not used in children under 12 years old as safety has not been established. Because this medication contains lactose, it should not be administered to patients with lactose intolerance or certain genetic lactose metabolism disorders. Patients with severe liver or kidney dysfunction should use this medication with caution, as well as patients with specific diseases such as orthostatic hypotension, heart disease, cerebrovascular disease, and diabetes. Also, caution is needed if there is an allergic reaction to the ingredient Yellow No. 4 included in this medication. This medication may cause dizziness or fainting, so special care should be taken when starting the medication or suddenly increasing the dosage. If fainting occurs, lie the patient down to stabilize them and seek appropriate treatment if necessary. This medication lowers blood pressure, so caution should be taken when engaging in hazardous activities such as working at heights or driving. Since dizziness or fainting may occur upon standing up from a lying position, it is important to move slowly. This medication helps alleviate symptoms of prostatic hyperplasia, but if it is ineffective, other treatment options should be considered. Since symptoms of prostate cancer may be similar to benign prostatic hyperplasia, it is essential to confirm the presence of cancer before treatment. If undergoing cataract surgery, inform the doctor about the use of this medication, as special precautions may be required during surgery. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should carefully consider the risks and benefits of taking this medication, and breastfeeding women are advised to avoid taking it or to discontinue breastfeeding if possible. Elderly patients should start with a low dose and monitor their condition, as excessive lowering of blood pressure can increase the risk of stroke and other complications. Overdose of this medication can lead to severe hypotension, so immediate medical treatment is required. Keep this medication out of reach of children and do not transfer it to other containers for safety.
