Precautions

This drug may cause adverse reactions in about 4% of patients, with diarrhea, loose stools, dry mouth, and fatigue being the most commonly reported symptoms. Changes in eosinophil counts, triglyceride levels, and liver enzyme levels may be observed in some patients undergoing liver function tests. Serious liver diseases such as fulminant hepatitis, liver dysfunction, and jaundice may occur rarely, so if such symptoms appear, discontinue the medication immediately and consult a healthcare professional. Additionally, allergic reactions such as rash, urticaria, and swelling may occur, along with leukopenia or gastrointestinal symptoms such as abdominal distension, nausea, vomiting, and taste disturbances. Other reported symptoms include dizziness, headache, palpitations, fatigue, and elevated triglyceride levels, so caution is advised. If digestive symptoms do not improve after more than two weeks of taking this drug, long-term use should be avoided. When taken with anticholinergics, the effect of this medication may be reduced, so dosing intervals should be adjusted or caution should be exercised when used concurrently. The administration of this medication in pregnant women or those who may become pregnant should be carefully considered, and it is advised to avoid use during breastfeeding or to discontinue breastfeeding. Safety in children has not been established, as there is no experience with use in this population. Elderly patients may have reduced renal and liver function and should be monitored closely, with dosage adjustments made as necessary. This medication should be kept out of the reach of children, and transferring it to another container could compromise its quality, so this should be avoided.
