How to take

Adult dose

As sildenafil, the recommended dose is to take 25 to 50 mg orally about 1 hour before sexual activity once a day; in some cases, it can be taken 4 hours to 30 minutes before sexual activity. The dosage may be adjusted based on efficacy and tolerance. Specific patient groups (aged 65 and older, liver impairment, severe renal impairment, along with CYP3A4 inhibitors, etc.) should start with an initial dose of 25 mg, and in the case of co-administration with ritonavir, do not exceed the maximum single dose of 25 mg within 48 hours.

Precautions

Caution is required as this medication can lower blood pressure when taken with nitrate preparations. Patients using nitrate medications must inform their doctor before using this medication. Patients with heart or vascular issues should closely check their cardiovascular status before using this medication, and should be cautious with sexual activities that may strain the heart. This medication may cause temporary drops in blood pressure due to vasodilation, so patients with cardiovascular disease need to take extra care. Patients with cardiac arrhythmias, heart failure, unstable angina, severe blood pressure abnormalities, or pigmentary retinopathy within the last six months should not use this medication. If an erection lasts longer than 4 hours, immediate medical attention should be sought to prevent damage to penile tissue. Patients with specific heart diseases or severely impaired blood pressure control may be greatly affected by this medication and should take care. Concurrent use with certain antiviral medications may significantly increase the blood concentration of this drug, raising the risk of side effects, so consultation with a physician is necessary. This medication contains the artificial sweetener aspartame, and should not be taken by patients with phenylketonuria, nor should aspartame intake be excessive. Patients allergic to this medication or its components, those regularly taking nitrate medications, unstable cardiovascular patients, and those with severe liver or kidney dysfunction should not take it. This medication should not be used by children under 18 or women. As this medication can lower blood pressure, it is critical to monitor for hypotension symptoms when taken with other antihypertensive medications, and to space out the timing when taken with alpha-blockers. Special caution is required when driving or operating machinery as dizziness or visual disturbances may occur. Overdose may lead to intensified side effects such as headache, flushing, dizziness, indigestion, visual disturbances, etc., so the recommended dosage must be adhered to. This medication is for treating erectile dysfunction and is not an aphrodisiac or sexual performance enhancer, nor does it provide protection against sexually transmitted diseases. If sudden loss of vision or hearing occurs while taking this medication, usage should be stopped immediately and a doctor consulted. Pregnant women or nursing mothers should not use this medication, and elderly patients are advised to start with a lowered dosage. This medication may interact with various drugs, so patients taking other medications should inform their doctor or pharmacist.
