Precautions

This medication should not be used in patients with moderate to severe impairment of liver or kidney function, as safety and efficacy have not been established. Patients with a history of allergies to this medication or its components, or to benzimidazole derivatives should not use it, as it may cause severe allergic reactions such as anaphylaxis, angioedema, bronchospasm, etc. Additionally, this medication should not be taken in conjunction with certain antivirals such as atazanavir and nelfinavir, so caution is essential. It is advisable for women in the first three months of pregnancy or those who may become pregnant, as well as nursing mothers, to avoid this medication. While taking this medication, gastrointestinal symptoms such as constipation, diarrhea, gastritis, dyspepsia, and vomiting may occur, as well as rare side effects like liver dysfunction, skin rashes, headaches, and dizziness. Patients taking this medication for a prolonged period, especially for over a year, should regularly undergo health check-ups and monitor liver enzyme levels. Elderly patients or those with decreased kidney function may require dosage adjustments, and if gastroesophageal reflux disease is suspected, confirmation through endoscopy should occur before taking this medication.
