This medication helps improve symptoms caused by benign prostatic hyperplasia. It alleviates discomfort caused by prostate enlargement, improves urinary flow, and helps facilitate urination. It also reduces the risk of acute urinary retention and decreases the need for prostate surgery. Thus, it is used to effectively manage prostate-related symptoms.

How to take

Adult dose

As finasteride, take 5 mg once daily by mouth, regardless of meals. Even if symptoms improve, treatment should continue for at least 6 months.

Precautions

This medication should not be used by children or women, especially pregnant women or those who may become pregnant, should avoid contact with broken pieces of this medication. This medication may cause psychiatric symptoms such as mood changes or depression, so if any of these symptoms occur during use, immediate consultation with healthcare providers is necessary.
