Improvement of symptoms and urinary flow in benign prostatic hyperplasia, reduction in the need for surgery
This medication helps improve urinary symptoms due to benign prostatic hyperplasia by reducing the enlarged prostate, thereby facilitating urine flow and decreasing the frequency of acute urinary retention. Additionally, relieving these symptoms reduces the need for prostate surgery, thus alleviating the burden on patients. Overall, it effectively improves prostate-related symptoms.
For finasteride, orally administer 5 mg once daily without regard to meals. Even if symptoms improve, a minimum treatment duration of 6 months is required.
