Treatment of inflammatory diseases of the external and anterior segments of the eye (such as blepharitis, conjunctivitis, etc.)
This medication is effective for various inflammatory diseases occurring in the external and anterior segments of the eye, from blepharitis (inflammation of the eyelid) to conjunctivitis, keratitis, and scleral inflammation. It is also used for deep eye inflammation such as iritis or uveitis and helps alleviate inflammation that may occur after surgery. It is used to maintain eye health and improve symptoms by treating these inflammations.
Instill 1 to 2 drops 2 to 4 times a day. Adjust as appropriate according to symptoms.
This medication should not be used in patients with viral keratoconjunctival diseases, fungal eye diseases, mycobacterial infections, or chronic blepharitis. Additionally, patients with hypersensitivity to this medication should not receive it. It should generally not be used in patients with corneal epithelium damage or corneal ulcers, tuberculosis or purulent eye disease, glaucoma patients, and infants under 2 years of age; however, if absolutely necessary, it should be used with extreme caution. Long-term use of this medication can increase intraocular pressure or lead to optic nerve damage, so regular eye pressure checks are essential. It contains corticosteroid ingredients, which may exacerbate infectious diseases such as herpes keratitis, fungal keratitis, and Pseudomonas infections, necessitating immediate appropriate treatment if infection symptoms appear. Caution should be taken as corneal perforation may occur when using this medication on corneal damage or ulcers. Long-term use may rarely lead to posterior subcapsular cataract, and suppression of immune response can increase the risk of secondary eye infections. Using this medication in cases of acute purulent eye infections may mask or worsen the infection symptoms. If inflammation or pain in the eye persists or worsens for more than 48 hours, use should be stopped immediately, and consultation with a doctor is required. Temporary blurriness of vision may occur when administering the drops, so driving or operating hazardous machinery should be avoided. Contact lens wearers should remove their lenses before administering the medication and can reinsert them at least 30 minutes after use. Infection with chickenpox or measles during the use of this medication can lead to serious complications, so it is crucial to check vaccination status and history to prevent infection. Children and patients taking specific medications (e.g., ritonavir, cobicistat) are at increased risk for systemic adverse reactions, so caution is advised. This medication should only be used in conjunction with CYP3A4 inhibitors after consulting a doctor due to increased systemic exposure and risk of side effects. Pregnant or breastfeeding individuals should avoid long-term or frequent use of this medication; if its use is unavoidable, it is safest to discontinue breastfeeding. Safety in infants and children has not been established, so usage should be approached with caution. Elderly patients may have reduced physical function, necessitating greater caution in usage. This medication is for ophthalmic use only, and proper care should be taken to avoid direct contact with the eye from the container opening. Shake well before use and avoid sharing to prevent contamination. Store in a sealed container to prevent exposure to air or moisture. It is advisable to maintain storage temperatures between 1 to 30 degrees Celsius to preserve the drug's efficacy and safety.
