Precautions

This medication should not be used by patients who have a hypersensitivity to aminoglycoside antibiotics or are allergic to bacitracin. Symptoms such as itching, swelling, redness, allergic conjunctivitis, and temporary burning sensation may occur, and if such symptoms arise, use should be immediately discontinued. Caution is needed as there may sometimes be discomfort or irritation. To prevent the development of resistant bacteria, it is advisable to confirm the sensitivity to infectious bacteria and use it for only the minimum required duration. To prevent severe allergic reactions, it is advisable to conduct a thorough medical history and skin reaction tests beforehand. Prolonged or repeated use may lead to excessive growth of resistant bacteria; if dysbiosis occurs, discontinue use and seek proper treatment. The ingredients of this medication should not be used concurrently with tetracycline class drugs. When using systemic aminoglycoside drugs, the blood levels should be carefully monitored. To prevent the spread of infection, it is recommended to avoid wearing contact lenses during treatment. After instillation, vision may temporarily be blurred, so driving or operating machinery should be avoided until vision returns to normal. The risk of bleeding may increase when used together with anticoagulants, so the coagulation status should be continuously monitored and the dosage of the anticoagulant adjusted if necessary. During pregnancy, it should only be used if absolutely necessary, and during breastfeeding, it should be avoided if it could harm the baby, unless the benefits of this medication outweigh the risks. In cases of overdose, symptoms such as keratitis, redness, excessive tearing, swelling, and eyelid itching may appear, and blood levels should be monitored, with treatment such as dialysis if necessary. This medication should not be injected into the eye, and it should be discarded after 4 weeks of opening if not used. Furthermore, resistance has been reported in some bacteria to this medication, so caution is necessary when treating.
