Precautions

This medication should not be administered to patients with hypersensitivity to quinolone antibiotics. During the use of this medication, rare severe allergic reactions such as nausea, cold limbs, and difficulty breathing may occur, so if any unusual symptoms arise, discontinue use immediately and seek appropriate treatment. Additionally, various hypersensitivity reactions such as cardiovascular collapse, loss of consciousness, angioedema, difficulty breathing, skin rash, and itching may occur, so if these symptoms develop, the use of this medication should be stopped. Temporary sensations of burning, irritation, redness, itching, tearing, dryness, and blurred vision may occur in the eyes, and in rare cases, it can progress to severe eye diseases such as severe keratitis or Stevens-Johnson syndrome, so if symptoms worsen, use should be stopped immediately. This medication may cause hearing impairment or other irritation symptoms, so caution is advised. Moreover, cases of tendon rupture in the shoulders, hands, Achilles tendon, etc., have been reported among patients using antibiotics of the same class, especially in the elderly or those co-administering steroids, and the risk is higher; thus, if pain or inflammation occurs, use should be stopped immediately. To prevent the development of resistant bacteria, it is important to administer it only for the minimum necessary duration based on sensitivity testing. Long-term use should be avoided, as excessive proliferation of fungi or resistant bacteria may occur, and in cases of secondary infections, a switch to other treatments is necessary. This medication has not been proven effective against methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA), so if MRSA infection is suspected or symptoms do not improve, a prompt switch to another potent antibiotic is warranted. For women who are pregnant or may become pregnant, the safety of this medication has not been established, and it should only be used when the therapeutic benefits outweigh the risks, and if breastfeeding, breastfeeding should be discontinued or the medication should be stopped. It should not be used in infants under one year of age as safety and efficacy have not been confirmed. This medication is for ophthalmic use only, and care should be taken to avoid direct contact of the tip of the container with the eye. To prevent contamination, it is advisable to avoid shared use whenever possible. During storage, keep out of reach of children, avoid direct sunlight, and store in a cool place. Additionally, to maintain quality, do not transfer to other containers.
