This drug helps effectively lower and control blood pressure in patients with essential hypertension who have difficulty controlling blood pressure even with combination therapy using Amlodipine and Olmesartan Medoxomil. By properly managing blood pressure, it is used to reduce the risk of cardiovascular diseases and maintain health.

Dosage and Administration

Adult dosage

This drug should be taken as one tablet once daily with water, regardless of meals. It is recommended to take it at the same time each day, preferably in the morning. The recommended dosages are as follows: - 5/20/12.5 mg: Administered to patients whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled with Amlodipine/Olmesartan Medoxomil 5/20 mg combination therapy. - 5/40/12.5 mg: Administered to patients whose blood pressure is not adequately controlled with Amlodipine/Olmesartan Medoxomil 5/40 mg.

Children's dosage

The safety and efficacy in pediatric patients under 18 years of age have not been established; therefore, the use of this drug is not recommended.

Precautions

This drug may cause serious harm to the fetus and newborn in the second and third trimesters of pregnancy; therefore, it should be discontinued immediately upon confirmation of pregnancy. It should not be used by patients who are allergic to this drug or its ingredients, those with certain heart diseases, significantly impaired kidney and liver function, pregnant or breastfeeding women, and patients with specific electrolyte abnormalities. Patients with reduced blood volume or certain kidney diseases should use this drug cautiously as hypotension or deterioration of kidney function may occur, and their condition should be closely monitored. This drug has a blood pressure-lowering effect; therefore, care should be taken when driving or operating machinery as dizziness or symptoms of orthostatic hypotension may occur. This drug may affect potassium levels; therefore, patients at risk of hyperkalemia or hypokalemia should undergo regular blood tests, and caution is needed when combined with potassium supplements or potassium-sparing diuretics. Interactions may occur when used with other medications, so it is essential to consult a specialist, especially when taking with lithium, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, or other antihypertensives. This drug may cause photosensitivity; thus, it is advisable to pay attention to UV protection during use. Elderly patients or those with impaired kidney or liver function may require dosage adjustments, and they should consult healthcare professionals immediately if any adverse reactions occur. In case of overdose, symptoms such as hypotension and palpitations may appear, so it is crucial to adhere strictly to the prescribed dosage and visit a hospital immediately if any unusual symptoms arise. The safety and efficacy in children or adolescents under 18 years have not been established; therefore, use is not recommended. This drug should be stored in a tightly closed container away from moisture, heat, and direct sunlight, out of the reach of children.
