This medication is used to treat inflammatory joint diseases occurring in various locations such as chronic polyarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis. It also helps relieve pain and inflammation caused by osteoarthritis and ankylosing spondylitis. It is effective in reducing pain and inflammatory symptoms following trauma or surgery. In addition, it plays a supplementary role in the treatment of infections accompanied by inflammation, pain, and fever. It is widely used for various inflammatory diseases and pain management.

How to take

Adult dose

Take 1 capsule (300mg as dexibuprofen) orally 2 to 4 times a day. However, do not exceed 4 capsules (1,200mg as dexibuprofen) in a day.

Precautions

This medication carries a risk of gastrointestinal bleeding if taken by someone who regularly consumes more than 3 glasses of alcohol daily, so it is essential to consult a doctor or pharmacist. This medication can affect the cardiovascular system, posing a risk of serious vascular problems such as myocardial infarction or stroke; thus, individuals with cardiovascular diseases or risk factors should exercise particular caution. This medication may cause severe gastrointestinal problems such as bleeding, ulcers, or perforation, requiring greater care in the elderly or those with a history of gastrointestinal diseases. Individuals with gastrointestinal ulcers or bleeding, severe liver or kidney impairment, heart failure, or hypertension should not take this medication. Taking this medication with other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs or aspirin can increase the risk of gastrointestinal bleeding and may reduce its effectiveness, so it is advisable not to use them together. During treatment with this medication, breastfeeding should be suspended or the medication should be discontinued, and caution is necessary when driving or operating machinery due to potential dizziness or fatigue. Anyone with blood disorders, liver or kidney dysfunction, hypertension, heart failure, or a history of allergies should consult a doctor or pharmacist before taking this medication. If symptoms such as sudden shortness of breath, skin rash, severe abdominal pain, jaundice, visual disturbances, or severe headaches occur, discontinue use immediately and consult a healthcare professional. For long-term use, regular blood tests and evaluations of liver and kidney function should be conducted to quickly detect adverse reactions. After six months of pregnancy, this medication should not be taken due to potential harm to the fetus, and women who are pregnant or planning to become pregnant should consult a healthcare professional before taking it. In case of overdose, seek immediate treatment at a hospital, and vomiting may be induced within 60 minutes after ingestion.

Drug interactions

Do not take this medication with aspirin or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. Do not take with high-dose methotrexate (over 15 mg/week) used in chemotherapy.
