Treatment and prevention of ulcers (including Helicobacter pylori eradication), reflux disease, and excessive gastric acid secretion
This medication is used for the short-term treatment of active duodenal ulcers and benign gastric ulcers and helps eradicate Helicobacter pylori to prevent recurrence of duodenal ulcers. It is also utilized as maintenance therapy after treating duodenal ulcers. It is effective for treating gastric ulcers caused by non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs and reducing the risk of occurrence. It applies to the short-term treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease and erosive esophagitis as well as maintenance therapy post-treatment. Finally, it is also used to treat pathological hypersecretion states, including Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. This drug effectively aids in the treatment and management of various gastrointestinal-related diseases, improving patients' symptoms.

Especially, pregnant patients or those with genetic issues like lactose intolerance should not take this medication. Additionally, due to the suppression of gastric acid secretion, the risk of gastrointestinal infections may slightly increase, so if symptoms like diarrhea persist, consultation with healthcare professionals is recommended. There may be interactions when used with other medications, so caution is needed particularly with antibiotics, antiviral agents, anticoagulants, immunosuppressants, etc. It is safer for pregnant or breastfeeding women to avoid this drug, and if unavoidable, they should consult a specialist before deciding. Children and the elderly may have different drug metabolism and reactions, so dose adjustment and careful observation are necessary.
