How to apply drops

Adult eye dose

Instill 1 drop of this medicine into each eye twice daily, approximately 12 hours apart. If using this medicine at the same time as artificial tears, administer them 15 minutes apart. Discard any remaining solution and the container after use.

Precautions

This medication is for use in the eyes, and caution is necessary as it has not been adequately studied in patients with a history of herpetic keratitis. The effect of increased tear production has not been observed in patients using topical anti-inflammatory drugs or lacrimal plugs. Patients with active eye infections or who are allergic or suspected to be allergic to any ingredient of this medication should not use it. During use, side effects such as stinging, redness, increased discharge, eye pain, foreign body sensation, itching, and visual disturbances may occur; if any abnormal symptoms appear, consult a healthcare professional. Rarely, serious side effects such as eye swelling, severe allergic reactions, or damage to the ocular surface can occur, so caution is advised. This medication contains phosphate, which may rarely lead to calcification of the cornea in patients with severe corneal damage. As it is a medication used directly in the eye, care should be taken to avoid contact of the container with the eye, and any remaining medication should be discarded after use. Do not use while wearing contact lenses; they must be removed prior to use and can only be worn again after 15 minutes post-application. There is insufficient research on the use of this medication during pregnancy, so it should be used cautiously when necessary, and caution is also required for nursing mothers. The safety and efficacy of this medication have not been established in children under 16 years of age, and its use is not recommended. This medication should be stored out of the reach of children and used only for ophthalmic purposes. Research on the potential for systemic cancer occurrence has been conducted; however, the doses used for ocular applications differ significantly, and no significant risks have been reported under normal use conditions.
