This medication is used in the treatment of secondary symptoms caused by vascular brain deficiency and degenerative or progressive organic cerebral psychosis. Typical symptoms include memory loss, confusion, decrease in motivation and spontaneity, disorientation, and reduced concentration. It helps to alleviate these symptoms.

How to take

Adult dose

Administer 400 mg of choline alfoscerate orally 2∼3 times daily. Adjust the dose appropriately according to symptoms.

Precautions

This medication should not be used by individuals who have had allergic reactions. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should not take this medication. Nausea may occur with this medication due to its effect on the neurotransmitter dopamine. If nausea is severe, the dosage should be reduced. It can affect the gastrointestinal system and may cause gastritis or gastrointestinal disorders. Additionally, this medication can cause psychiatric symptoms such as drowsiness, insomnia, irritability, nervousness, cramps, and excessive motor activity. This medication should be stored out of reach of children. Furthermore, transferring the medication to another container may diminish its quality and could lead to accidents.
