This medicine is used as an antimicrobial skin cleanser to clean general skin and wound areas. It also helps to disinfect the hands of medical staff during surgery and maintains personal hand hygiene. Before surgery, it effectively disinfects the skin at the surgical site to reduce the risk of infection. General skin and wound cleansing - Clean the area to be washed with water, dispense the minimum amount necessary for application to the skin or wound, smooth it on, rinse thoroughly with water. Surgical hand disinfection - Wet the hands and forearms with water, apply 5 mL of this product to the hands and forearms, and rub with a brush or sponge for about 3 minutes. Rinse thoroughly with running water and repeat the process once more.
This drug is a topical solution containing chlorhexidine, used for the purpose of sterilizing and disinfecting skin and mucous membranes. This drug should not be used in patients who have had allergic reactions to chlorhexidine. Previous hypersensitivity to this ingredient may result in severe side effects. Additionally, patients with a history of allergies to other medications or those with a history or family history of asthma or allergic diseases should exercise caution when using this drug, as the risk of allergic reactions is heightened. While using, serious side effects such as shock can rarely occur, so if symptoms such as nausea, discomfort, cold sweats, dizziness, shortness of breath, or skin redness appear, the use should be immediately discontinued and consultation with medical personnel should be sought. If symptoms of hypersensitivity such as rash or urticaria appear on the skin, it is also safe to stop using this drug. In severe cases, anaphylactic shock may occur, so caution is necessary. This drug may induce photosensitivity reactions, making the skin sensitive during exposure to sunlight. Before use, it is essential to confirm the patient's allergy history and any hypersensitivity to chlorhexidine, and patients who have previously experienced shock from this drug require special caution. Pregnant or nursing women are advised not to use this drug due to insufficient safety confirmation from clinical trials or animal studies. This drug is for topical use only, and should not be ingested or injected. It should not be applied to the face, head, genital area, or deep wounds; if ingested accidentally, appropriate measures should be taken immediately. Care should be taken to avoid contact with the eyes, ears, and mouth area, and if it gets in the eyes, it should be rinsed out with clean water immediately. If it gets in the ear, it can cause hearing impairment, so it must be washed out immediately. It is safest not to use on extensive wounds or burn areas, especially in premature and newborn infants. When used for extended periods or over large areas, care should be taken to avoid inhaling vapors, and soaps may reduce the bactericidal effect of this product; thus, they should be washed off thoroughly before use. This drug is absorbed by fabrics or cloth, so when soaking in solution, it is always better to use fresh solution, and for dilution, it is advisable to use clean distilled water. Diluted solutions should be exchanged daily, and if irritation or allergic reactions persist for more than 72 hours, use should be discontinued. During storage, it should be kept in a tightly closed container to prevent air or moisture from entering, and it is advisable to store it in a cool place at or below 25 degrees Celsius. This will help maintain the effectiveness of the drug and ensure safe use.
