This contributes to facilitating a smooth sexual life.

How to take

Adult dose

As sildenafil, the recommended dose of 25 to 50 mg should be taken orally approximately 1 hour before sexual activity. In some cases, it may be taken from 4 hours to 30 minutes prior to sexual activity. The dosage may be adjusted based on efficacy and tolerance. The initial dose should be adjusted to 25 mg, particularly in patients over 65 years old, those with liver impairment, those with severe kidney failure, and when used in conjunction with CYP3A4 inhibitors.

Precautions

This medication acts by dilating blood vessels, which can lower blood pressure, so there is a risk of blood pressure dropping too low when taken with nitrate preparations or other antihypertensive drugs. Patients with cardiovascular diseases should consult their doctor before taking this medication, and it is safer not to use it if the heart condition is unstable. Sexual activity can put a strain on the heart; therefore, patients with poor cardiovascular health are recommended not to take this medication or engage in sexual activity. There may be side effects such as low blood pressure or dizziness in patients with cardiovascular disease, thus caution is advised. This medication should not be used if certain heart diseases are present, if blood pressure is too low or too high, or if there are retinal disorders. If an erection lasts more than 4 hours, immediate medical attention should be sought to prevent damage to the penile tissue. The concentration in the blood can significantly increase when taken with certain protease inhibitors, so dose adjustment may be necessary. Formulations containing aspartame should not be given to patients with phenylketonuria. This medication should not be administered to patients with hypersensitivity to it or who are taking nitrate preparations, those with unstable cardiovascular conditions, severe liver or kidney failure, minors under 18 years of age, or females. This medication should not be taken with other erectile dysfunction treatments, and patients who have previously lost their vision due to certain optic nerve disorders should also avoid its use. Elderly patients or those with compromised liver or kidney function should start with a lower dose and be monitored closely to reduce the likelihood of adverse reactions. Common side effects may include headaches, facial flushing, dyspepsia, dizziness, visual disturbances, rash, nausea, dry mouth, drowsiness, eye redness, eye pain, dry eyes, eye fatigue, eyelid swelling, vasodilation, tachycardia, palpitations, nosebleeds, throat tightness, rhinitis, congestion, pharyngitis, sinusitis, asthma, shortness of breath, increased cough, joint pain, muscle pain, and skin itching. Care is needed when driving or operating machinery, particularly when taking the medication for the first time, as it is important to check one’s reactions. When combined with alpha-blockers, there is a risk of hypotension, thus usage should be spaced out, and blood pressure changes must be closely monitored when taken with antihypertensive medications. This medication is to be used solely for the treatment of erectile dysfunction and does not provide a protective effect against sexually transmitted diseases. Symptoms may worsen with overdose; therefore, it is essential to adhere to the recommended dosage, and should any adverse reactions occur, immediate medical attention is required. Keep this medication out of reach of children and avoid transferring it to other containers. If sudden loss of vision or hearing occurs during the use of this medication, it should be stopped immediately and medical advice sought. Ensure thorough consultation with a doctor before and after taking the medication to ensure safe use that is tailored to individual health statuses.
