Adult dose

As Sildenafil, the recommended dose is 25 to 50 mg taken orally about 1 hour before sexual activity, which may also be taken between 4 hours to 30 minutes before sexual activity in certain situations. Dosing may be adjusted based on efficacy and tolerability. Certain patients (aged 65 and older, hepatic impairment, severe renal impairment, patients taking CYP3A4 inhibitors, etc.) should adjust the initial dose to 25 mg.

This medication may cause a significant drop in blood pressure when taken in conjunction with nitrate medications or NO donors, so it is crucial to confirm whether the physician is using such medications before taking it. Patients with cardiovascular diseases should carefully evaluate their heart condition before taking this medication, and sexual activity that may pose a risk to the heart is not recommended. Since this medication dilates blood vessels, temporarily lowering blood pressure, patients with underlying cardiovascular diseases should be particularly cautious. Patients who have had serious arrhythmias, heart failure, or unstable angina within the last six months, patients with low or high blood pressure, and those with pigmentary retinopathy should use this medication with caution. If an erection lasts longer than 4 hours or is accompanied by pain for more than 6 hours, immediate medical assistance should be sought, as untreated cases may lead to penile tissue damage and permanent loss of erectile function. Some patients have reported rare cardiovascular adverse effects or visual disturbances and hearing loss after using this medication, so if any unusual symptoms occur, medical consultation should be sought immediately. This medication may interact with certain drugs, especially potent CYP3A4 inhibitors like Ritonavir, requiring dose adjustments and consultation with a physician. Patients with phenylketonuria should avoid this medication due to the presence of the artificial sweetener aspartame. This medication is not to be used by women or minors under 18 years old, and elderly patients should start with a lower initial dose for safety. In case of overdose, appropriate treatment should be administered according to symptoms, and it is not removed through renal dialysis. While taking this medication, caution should be taken in activities such as driving or operating machinery, as dizziness or visual disturbances may occur. This medication does not prevent sexually transmitted diseases, so caution is required during sexual intercourse. The use of this medication in conjunction with other erectile dysfunction medications is not recommended as safety and efficacy have not been established.
