Depending on individual circumstances, it may be taken 4 hours to 30 minutes before sexual activity. The dosage can be adjusted based on efficacy and tolerance. Precautions

This medication has a vasodilatory effect, which may lower blood pressure. Therefore, it is crucial to consult a doctor if taken with nitrate medications or NO donors, as it may cause dangerously low blood pressure. Patients with heart or vascular issues should carefully check their cardiovascular status before using this medication, and it is safe not to use it if there is severe cardiovascular disease. Since sexual activity itself can be stressful on the heart, patients with poor cardiovascular status should avoid using this medication. This medication may temporarily lower blood pressure when lying down, so patients with blood pressure issues or heart diseases should be cautious. Particularly, patients with recent heart rhythm problems, heart failure, unstable angina, severe hypotension or hypertension, and those with pigmentary retinopathy should not use this medication. If an erection lasts longer than 4 hours, immediate medical attention should be sought, as untreated cases can lead to permanent damage. Certain heart disease patients sensitive to blood pressure control should be cautious due to the vasodilatory effects of this medication, which may increase the risk of side effects. When combined with certain antivirals, the serum concentration of this medication may significantly increase, necessitating dose adjustments. The artificial sweetener aspartame in this medication should not be administered to patients with phenylketonuria. This medication is not for use in minors under 18 or women, and it is contraindicated in certain medications or conditions. Elderly patients or those with reduced kidney or liver function should start with a lower dose for safety. If sudden vision loss or hearing decrease occurs while taking this medication, it should be discontinued immediately and consult a physician. Dizziness or vision abnormalities may occur while driving or operating machinery; therefore, caution is advised. This medication should not be taken with other erectile dysfunction treatments, and caution should be exercised when used with alpha-blockers due to the risk of hypotension; thus, dosing intervals should be adjusted. Exceeding the recommended dose may exacerbate side effects, so adherence to the recommended dosage is essential, and immediate medical contact is necessary if an overdose occurs. This medication is for treating erectile dysfunction and does not have any effect on the prevention of sexually transmitted diseases; therefore, safe sexual practices should be maintained. Take note that taking this medication with food may delay the onset of its effects.
