Precautions

This medicine is an externally applied agent made from flurbiprofen, which should not be used by certain patients. Firstly, individuals who have experienced allergic reactions to this drug or other flurbiprofen preparations should not use this medication. Additionally, patients who have had asthma attacks triggered by non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, also known as aspirin-induced asthma, should avoid using this drug as it may provoke asthma attacks. For patients with bronchial asthma, this medication should be used cautiously as it may trigger asthma attacks. While using this medication, abnormal reactions such as redness, rash, itching, burning sensation, and contact dermatitis may occur on the skin. If such symptoms arise, use should be discontinued immediately. Also, if initial symptoms of an asthma attack, such as wheezing, breathlessness, or a bubbling sound, appear within a few hours after applying this medication, usage should be stopped, and medical assistance should be sought. It should be remembered that this medication is a symptomatic treatment that alleviates inflammation and pain, and is not a drug that treats the underlying cause. When used for inflammation accompanied by skin infections, it is crucial to use it alongside antimicrobials or antifungals, as the infection may not be visually apparent, and to monitor the condition closely. When using it for chronic conditions like degenerative arthritis, other treatment methods should also be considered in addition to drug therapy, and careful observation of the patient's condition and potential side effects is necessary. Particular caution is required during pregnancy. In the first and second trimesters, it should not be used unless absolutely necessary, and if it must be used, the dosage should be minimized and the duration of treatment kept short. In the third trimester, it should not be used as it may cause toxicity to the fetus's heart, lungs, and kidneys, prolong bleeding times in the mother and baby, and delay labor. For children, safety has not been thoroughly established, and there is limited experience using it, so caution is advised. Elderly patients should use it carefully as there is a risk of skin injury, ensuring to monitor the application area closely. Finally, this medication should not be applied to damaged skin or mucous membranes, or areas with eczema or rashes, and the sweat on the application site should be thoroughly wiped off before use.
