This medication is used for adult patients with acute coronary syndrome who need to be treated with both clopidogrel and aspirin. This includes cases of unstable angina or non-ST elevation myocardial infarction in patients who have received medication treatment, coronary interventions, or coronary artery bypass surgery. This drug improves atherosclerotic symptoms such as cardiovascular mortality, myocardial infarction, and stroke. It also reduces the risk of stroke and thromboembolism in patients with atrial fibrillation who have vascular risk factors but a low risk of bleeding, and for whom vitamin K antagonists are not suitable. Therefore, this medication is very effective in the treatment and prevention of cardiovascular-related diseases.

Patients with a history of gastrointestinal bleeding or bleeding tendencies should be particularly cautious when using this medication and should undergo immediate examination if bleeding symptoms appear. Patients scheduled for surgery should discontinue this medication 5 to 7 days before the procedure and be cautious about concomitant use with other medications that may increase the bleeding risk. This medication is not recommended for children or adolescents under 18 years of age, and elderly patients have a higher likelihood of adverse reactions, thus should be carefully monitored.
