How to take

Adult dose

For sildenafil, adminstered orally as a recommended dose of 25-50 mg approximately 1 hour before sexual activity, and in some cases may be taken between 4 hours and 30 minutes before sexual activity. Dosage may be adjusted according to efficacy and tolerability.

Precautions

This medication should not be taken with nitrates or nitric oxide donors as it may cause a significant drop in blood pressure; patients taking these medications must inform their doctor. Patients with heart conditions should carefully evaluate their cardiac health before taking this medication, and it is not safe for patients with poor cardiovascular status due to the potential strain on the heart. Since sexual activity itself may put strain on the heart, patients with cardiovascular diseases should consult their physician before taking this medication. This medication can cause temporary vasodilation and a decrease in blood pressure, so patients with cardiovascular diseases must exercise particular caution. Patients with arrhythmias, heart failure, unstable angina, severe hypertension or hypotension, and those with pigmentary retinopathy should avoid this medication. If an erection lasts more than 4 hours, immediate medical attention is required; neglecting this can lead to penile tissue damage or loss of erectile function. Patients with impaired blood pressure control or valve issues in the heart may be more sensitive to this medication, requiring caution. Combining this medicine with certain antiviral drugs may significantly increase the blood concentration of this medication, necessitating dosage adjustments. The artificial sweetener aspartame contained in this medication is inappropriate for patients with phenylketonuria, requiring caution. Patients allergic to this medication or its components, or those regularly taking nitrate medications should not take this medication. Patients who have recently experienced a myocardial infarction, stroke, or brain hemorrhage, those with unstable cardiovascular conditions, severe liver or kidney failure, and children under the age of 18, as well as women, should refrain from using this medication. Concurrent use with other erectile dysfunction treatments has not been proven safe and should be avoided. Patients with penile deformities, blood disorders, bleeding tendencies, the elderly, and those with liver or kidney failure should use this medication at a reduced dose and under careful observation. Side effects such as headache, facial flushing, dyspepsia, nasal congestion, dizziness, visual disturbances, and others may commonly occur with this medication. If such symptoms are severe, consult a doctor. Visual disturbances or dizziness may occur when driving or operating machinery, so caution is advised. Taking this medication with alpha-blockers or specific antihypertensive medications can significantly lower blood pressure, so dosage and timing adjustments are necessary. Women who are pregnant or breastfeeding should not use this medication. Overdosing may lead to exacerbated side effects, so it’s important to adhere to the prescribed dosage; in case of overdose, seek immediate medical attention. Keep out of reach of children and do not store in other containers.
