This medication is effective in treating chronic polyarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis, arthrosis, and ankylosing spondylitis. It also alleviates post-traumatic or post-operative painful swelling and inflammation, and helps in the treatment of infections accompanied by inflammation, pain, and fever. It is used to improve symptoms in various joint diseases and inflammatory conditions.

How to take

Adult dose

Administer 300 mg of dexibuprofen per dose, taken orally 2 to 4 times a day. However, the total daily dose of dexibuprofen should not exceed 1,200 mg.

Precautions

This medication may cause a risk of gastrointestinal bleeding in individuals who regularly consume more than 3 drinks of alcohol daily, so consultation with a doctor or pharmacist is necessary. This medication can affect the cardiovascular system, increasing the risk of thromboembolic events such as myocardial infarction or stroke, and patients with cardiovascular diseases or risk factors should be particularly careful. This medication could cause serious adverse reactions such as gastrointestinal bleeding, ulcers, and perforations, so elderly patients or those with a history of gastrointestinal disease should use it cautiously. Individuals with gastrointestinal ulcers or bleeding, severe liver dysfunction, kidney impairment, heart failure, or hypertension should avoid taking this medication. When taken with aspirin or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, the risk of gastrointestinal adverse reactions may increase, so concomitant use should be avoided. During treatment, it is advisable to discontinue breastfeeding or the medication; dizziness or fatigue may occur, necessitating caution when driving or operating machinery. Individuals with blood disorders, liver dysfunction, kidney impairment, hypertension, heart failure, or a history of allergies must consult with healthcare personnel before taking this medication. If symptoms such as shock, severe skin rash, difficulty breathing, abnormal liver function, decreased kidney function, or cardiovascular symptoms occur while taking this medication, it should be discontinued immediately, and consultation with healthcare personnel is required. This medication should be used at the lowest possible dose and for the shortest duration necessary; regular blood tests and liver and kidney function tests are needed during long-term use. Especially after 20 weeks of pregnancy, this medication may affect fetal kidney function, so pregnant individuals must consult with healthcare personnel before taking it. In case of overdose, even if there are no symptoms, immediate medical advice should be sought, and it should be stored out of reach of children, protected from direct sunlight and moisture.

Interactions

Drug interactions

Do not use this medication with other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, aspirin, or high doses of methotrexate. Also, avoid concomitant use with corticosteroids, alcohol, digoxin, phenytoin, probenecid, sulfinpyrazone, sulfonylureas, ACE inhibitors or angiotensin II receptor antagonists, diuretics, lithium, coumarin anticoagulants, baclofen, immunosuppressants, thrombolytics, ticlopidine, antithrombotics, or potassium levels.
