Adult dose
This medication should be administered before meals. 1. Short-term treatment of active duodenal ulcers: administer 15 mg of lansoprazole orally once daily for 4 weeks. 2. Short-term treatment of active benign gastric ulcers: administer 30 mg of lansoprazole orally once daily for 8 weeks. 3. Eradication of Helicobacter pylori for prevention of duodenal ulcer recurrence 1) Administer 30 mg of lansoprazole with 250 to 500 mg of clarithromycin twice daily (every 12 hours) for 7 days. It can be extended to 14 days if necessary. 2) Administer 30 mg of lansoprazole combined with 1,000 mg of amoxicillin three times daily (every 8 hours) for 14 days. 4. Maintenance therapy following treatment for duodenal ulcer: administer 15 mg of lansoprazole orally once daily. The duration of comparative clinical trials did not exceed 12 months. 5. Treatment of NSAID-induced gastric ulcers: administer 30 mg of lansoprazole orally once daily for 8 weeks. The duration of comparative clinical trials did not exceed 8 weeks. 6. Reducing the risk of occurrence of NSAID-induced gastric ulcers: administer 15 mg of lansoprazole orally once daily for 12 weeks. The duration of comparative clinical trials did not exceed 12 weeks. 7. Short-term treatment of symptoms related to gastroesophageal reflux disease: administer 15 mg of lansoprazole orally once daily for 8 weeks. 8. Short-term treatment of erosive esophagitis: administer 30 mg of lansoprazole orally once daily for 8 weeks. 9. Maintenance therapy following treatment of erosive esophagitis: administer 15 mg of lansoprazole orally once daily. 10. Pathological hypersecretion conditions including Zollinger-Ellison syndrome: Dosage for pathological hypersecretion varies among individual patients. Generally, start at 60 mg once daily for adults. Dosage should be adjusted according to patient needs and can be continued as long as clinically effective. Doses of 90 mg once or split doses up to 120 mg daily have been administered. For children and adolescents aged 12 to 17: 1. Short-term treatment of symptoms related to non-erosive gastroesophageal reflux disease: administer 15 mg once daily for 8 weeks. 2. Short-term treatment of erosive esophagitis: administer 30 mg once daily for 8 weeks. For children aged 1 to 11: Short-term treatment of symptoms related to gastroesophageal reflux disease and erosive esophagitis: Under 30 kg: 15 mg once daily for 12 weeks Over 30 kg: 30 mg once daily for 12 weeks. For the elderly: Due to decreased clearance of this medication in the elderly, dosage adjustment is required. The daily dose should not exceed 30 mg. For patients with liver dysfunction: Patients with liver dysfunction may experience delayed metabolism and excretion of this medication, so careful administration including dosage adjustment is necessary.

This medication is used for the short-term treatment of active duodenal ulcers and active benign gastric ulcers. It also helps eradicate Helicobacter pylori to prevent the recurrence of duodenal ulcers, and can be used in maintenance therapy after treatment. It is effective for treating gastric ulcers caused by non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) and reducing the risk of occurrence. It is also used for the symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux disease and erosive esophagitis, and helps improve conditions with pathological hypersecretion of gastric acid, such as Zollinger-Ellison syndrome. Thus, this medication is used to treat and improve various symptoms and pathological states associated with gastrointestinal diseases.

How to take

Adult dose

Precautions

This medication should not be used by patients who are allergic to certain ingredients. Care should be taken in particular for those with hypersensitivity to benzimidazoles or penicillins, as well as macrolide antibiotics. It is advisable for pregnant or breastfeeding women to avoid this medication. Caution is required in patients with compromised liver or kidney function, elderly patients, and children. Serious allergic reactions such as anaphylaxis, skin rash, and breathing difficulties may occur, so careful monitoring is necessary during treatment. Serious side effects, such as liver dysfunction, blood disorders, and acute interstitial nephritis, may occur; if any abnormal symptoms appear, discontinue use immediately and consult a healthcare provider. Common side effects such as diarrhea, headache, and abdominal pain may also occur, so it is advisable to inform a healthcare provider if these symptoms develop. Long-term use may result in vitamin B12 deficiency or hypomagnesemia, necessitating regular testing. This medication suppresses gastric acid secretion, which may slightly increase the risk of gastrointestinal infections. Many drug interactions are possible, so it is essential to inform healthcare providers particularly if taking antibiotics, anticoagulants, immunosuppressants, or antifungals. Dizziness, drowsiness, or visual disturbances may occur; caution is necessary when driving or operating machinery. Dosage adjustment and caution are necessary for children and the elderly, and immediate consultation with healthcare providers is required in cases of overdose. Store in a container that is tightly closed and not accessible to children, and do not transfer to another container.
