Precautions

This medication should not be used in certain patients. Patients with a history of allergic reactions to this medication or its ingredients, patients with orthostatic hypotension, patients with severe liver dysfunction, and women who are pregnant or may become pregnant should not take this medication. Patients with severely impaired kidney function, the elderly, and those taking certain medications (such as PDE5 inhibitors, CYP3A4 inhibitors, antihypertensives, etc.) should use this medication with caution. Particularly, patients taking alpha-1 blockers or with a history of urinary syncope should be careful when using this medication. While taking this medication, various side effects such as dizziness, blood pressure drop, irregular heartbeat, digestive problems, liver dysfunction, and allergic reactions may occur, so symptoms should be closely monitored. As blood pressure may drop suddenly, care should be taken to avoid overdosing, and caution is advised when changing positions due to the potential for dizziness. This medication does not treat the underlying cause, so if it is ineffective, other treatment options should be considered. When driving or working at heights, caution is needed due to the risk of accidents from dizziness. This drug may rarely cause priapism; if this symptom occurs, consult a physician immediately. Patients who are scheduled for cataract or glaucoma surgery must inform their healthcare providers that they are taking this medication. Patients who have had allergies to sulfa drugs should be especially cautious when taking this medication. The risk of blood pressure drop may increase when taken with other antihypertensives or certain medications, so it’s essential to consult a doctor if taking them together. Pregnant women or nursing mothers should not use this medication, and safety and efficacy have not been established for children under 18, so it should not be used in this age group. Elderly patients may experience decreased kidney function and should start with a lower dose and observe their condition while taking the medication. This medication should be taken out of the package and should not be chewed or opened. In particular, the orally disintegrating tablet should be placed on the tongue and taken with saliva, and it should not be taken while lying down without water. Keep this medication out of reach of children, and it is advisable not to transfer it to other containers.
