Precautions

This medication should not be used by individuals who are allergic to the active ingredient or other components of this medication. Additionally, it should not be administered to patients with type 1 diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis. When using this medication, caution is required when taking other medications that can induce hypoglycemia. The risk of hypoglycemia may increase when used in combination with insulin or sulfonylureas, as they stimulate insulin secretion, which may necessitate dosage adjustment. This medication should be used cautiously in patients with heart failure. Acute pancreatitis may occur during treatment, so if severe abdominal pain occurs, discontinue use immediately and consult a physician. Skin conditions such as bullous pemphigoid may develop during treatment; therefore, if blisters or skin rash occur, notify a physician immediately. Hypoglycemic symptoms may occur during treatment, especially when taken with sulfonylureas or insulin, so pay attention to signs of hypoglycemia. Use of this medication during pregnancy or lactation is not recommended, and consultation with a doctor is required prior to use. It is advisable to avoid use in children under 10 years old, as safety and efficacy have not been established. Elderly patients can use it without special dosage adjustments, but caution may be warranted depending on health status. Patients with impaired renal or liver function may use it without dosage adjustments, but regular medical supervision is necessary.
