View approved original text

This medication primarily helps control blood pressure in patients with essential hypertension and is also used in heart failure patients who are intolerant to ACE inhibitors (NYHA class II to IV). It is effective in reducing the risk of death in stable patients with left ventricular dysfunction or impaired contractility after a myocardial infarction. Thus, it is used for hypertension, heart failure, and prevention of complications after myocardial infarction.
