Precautions

This medication should not be used in certain patients. For example, it should not be administered to individuals with allergies to this drug or those with severe liver impairment, as well as pregnant or breastfeeding women. Moreover, it should be used cautiously in patients with poor kidney function or muscle disorders, and particularly in those taking medications such as cyclosporine, it should not be used in combination. During treatment with this medication, symptoms such as muscle pain or weakness may appear, and side effects such as liver dysfunction or blood abnormalities may occur, necessitating regular check-ups. In particular, a serious muscle condition called rhabdomyolysis may rarely occur, so if muscle pain or weakness is experienced, immediate consultation with a doctor is necessary. Since this drug is primarily metabolized in the liver, patients with impaired liver function should start at a low dose and have frequent liver function tests. Additionally, this drug may interact with certain medications, increasing the risk of side effects; therefore, if other medications are being taken, it is essential to inform the doctor or pharmacist. Elderly patients are at higher risk of side effects due to decreased bodily functions, thus caution is advised. Women who are pregnant or may become pregnant, as well as breastfeeding women, should not take this medication, and if pregnancy occurs during treatment, it should be discontinued immediately. Lastly, the safety and efficacy of this medication have not been established in children, so it should not be used in this population. Finally, this medication should be kept out of the reach of children and stored in its original container to prevent misuse or degradation of quality.
