Precautions

This medication can cause serious harm to the fetus and newborn if taken during the second or third trimester of pregnancy, so it must be discontinued immediately if pregnancy is confirmed. Patients with allergies to any of the components of this medication or specific groups such as pregnant women, nursing women, patients undergoing kidney dialysis, those with severe liver dysfunction, or bile duct obstruction should not take it. When administered to patients with low blood volume or low sodium, hypotension may occur; therefore, their condition should be monitored closely, and patients with impaired kidney function should have kidney status checked frequently through blood tests. Due to the risk of hyperkalemia, patients with heart or kidney disease should regularly check their blood potassium levels. This medication can cause dizziness, so caution is necessary when driving or operating hazardous machinery. While taking this medication, side effects such as liver function abnormalities, indigestion, or skin rashes may occur, so if any unusual symptoms appear, consult a doctor immediately. When taken with other antihypertensive medications, the blood pressure-lowering effect may increase; thus, it should be administered according to medical guidance. When used in conjunction with potassium-sparing diuretics or potassium supplements, potassium levels in the blood may rise to dangerous levels, so caution is necessary. Taking this medication during pregnancy can result in severe problems for the fetus, so women planning to become pregnant or who may be pregnant must inform their healthcare provider. Nursing women should be cautious, as this medication can pass into breast milk and pose a risk of adverse reactions in the baby, requiring either the cessation of breastfeeding or stopping the medication. Safety for pediatric use has not been established, so it is advisable not to use it for children. Elderly patients may require dosage adjustments due to increased drug concentration in the body. In case of overdose, symptoms such as hypotension and heart rhythm abnormalities may occur; consult medical personnel immediately. This medication has not been reported to have carcinogenic or genotoxic effects even with long-term use, but if any unusual symptoms occur, consult a specialist.
