Improvement of essential hypertension
Essential hypertension refers to a condition where blood pressure is persistently high without any specific cause. This medication effectively lowers blood pressure, reducing the risk of cardiovascular diseases and helping to prevent damage to blood vessels and organs. Regular use can help maintain blood pressure control and a healthy lifestyle. It is used to treat essential hypertension.
The recommended initial dose is 10 mg once daily, taken regardless of meals. If blood pressure is not adequately controlled at this dose, it may be increased to 20 mg once daily. For additional blood pressure-lowering effects, the dose may be increased up to a maximum of 40 mg once daily. In patients who may have a reduction in effective intravascular blood volume, it is advised to initiate treatment at a lower dose while monitoring their condition closely.
Safety and efficacy in children have not been established.
