This medication is used in patients with essential hypertension whose blood pressure control is insufficient with Olmesartan Medoxomil or Hydrochlorothiazide alone. It effectively lowers blood pressure and helps reduce the risk of cardiovascular complications.

How to take

Adult dose

This medication is to be taken once daily with or without food. Dosage should be adjusted every 2 to 4 weeks based on the patient's blood pressure response. In the elderly, treatment should start at the lowest dose, and dosage adjustments must take into account kidney function, heart function, comorbid conditions, and concomitant medications.

Child dose

Safety and efficacy in children have not been established.

Precautions

This medication may cause serious harm or death to the fetus or newborn if taken during the second and third trimesters of pregnancy, therefore it should be discontinued immediately upon confirmation of pregnancy. It should not be used in patients with allergies to this drug or its components, specific kidney or liver diseases, or in women who are pregnant or breastfeeding. Patients with significantly low blood pressure, severely impaired kidney function, and certain electrolyte abnormalities should use this medication with caution, and their conditions should be closely monitored before and during treatment. During treatment, symptoms such as dizziness, headache, indigestion, muscle pain, rash, and others may occur, and if there are severe edema or breathing difficulties, healthcare personnel should be informed immediately. This medication can interact with other drugs; therefore, especially if taking potassium supplements, diuretics, lithium, or anti-inflammatory drugs, it is essential to inform healthcare personnel and be cautious. Pregnant and breastfeeding women should pay special attention to taking this medication, and breastfeeding should be avoided or paused while taking this medication. In children and the elderly, the safety and efficacy of this medication have not been well established, or there may be impaired kidney function, so dosage adjustments and caution are necessary. In cases of overdose, symptoms such as hypotension, electrolyte imbalance, and dehydration may occur, and appropriate treatment should be received at a medical institution immediately. Regular blood tests and monitoring of electrolytes, kidney function, and liver function during medication use are important.
